Waterfront Theatre

Waterfront Theatre is located on Granville Island in the heart of Vancouver at 1412 Cartwright Street. The Waterfront Theatre lobby, lounge, washrooms and front row of auditorium are step-free.

Getting to Granville Island

Granville Island is located in the heart of Vancouver, nestled under the South End of The Granville Street Bridge.

Getting to Granville Island by car is easy since many main thoroughfares run nearby, including the Granville Street Bridge above, 4th Avenue to the south, and Burrard Street to the west.

By Car

From your point of origin, travel towards the intersection of West 4th Avenue and Fir Street. Then head north on Fir Street, and take either the first right at West 3rd Avenue (which turns into Anderson St. to the left (north) or take the second right at West 2nd Ave.

You will then find yourself at the intersection of West 2nd Avenue and Anderson St. and should be able to see the Granville Island sign under the bridge looking northward on Anderson St. Follow Anderson St. onto Granville Island.

By Bus

#50 False Creek

The #50 False Creek bus comes from Gastown in the downtown area, along Granville St., and stops just off Granville Island, at the intersection of Anderson St. and West 2nd Ave. It will let you off on the southeast side of West 2nd Ave. Look for the large Granville Island sign and the yellow and rainbow-ed Kids Market along Anderson St. northward.

Other bus routes

The Granville & 5th Ave at the south end of the Granville Bridge is also an interchange for many of the urban and suburban routes. Hop off your bus at 5th Ave and walk 5-10 minutes northward under the bridge to get to Granville Island.

Parking

Parking on Granville Island is free before 11 am and free after 6 pm. Between the hours of 11 am and 6 pm, parking is $2 per hour from September to May, and $3 per hour for the months of June, July, and August. Parking can be purchased in 15-minute intervals

There is 1 wheelchair-accessible parking spot located directly in front of The Waterfront Theatre.

Fun Stuff on Granville Island

Here are some fun events happening on Granville Island this summer:

  • Farmer’s Market. Every Thursday from June 9 to September 26, 2019. (Located at the Chain & Forge, situated under the Granville Street Bridge, across from The Keg) Hours: 11 am–4pm

  • Public Market. An indoor market featuring a fascinating assortment of colourful food and produce stores, showcasing handcrafted products and the very finest in unique gifts. All fresh from the ocean, the oven or the field. Hours: 9 am–7 pm
