The Ensemble Theatre Company is dedicated to achieving artistic excellence while producing theatre that is accessible and relevant, through productions of challenging contemporary plays and innovative approaches to the classics. Ensemble Theatre Company sees theatre as an essential cultural force in leading and framing dialogue on important issues of our day. These core values inform all aspects of ETC.
Ensemble Theatre Company is a Canadian nonprofit company devoted to nurturing both artists and audiences, creating a place of inclusion and a forum for ideas and dialogue arising from the works we produce.
Ensemble Theatre Company first began performing in the late 1990's, in the former chapel of a Victoria, BC church, the ambitious brainchild of two theatre school friends: Tariq Leslie and Elvy Del Bianco, who trained at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) together.
Now, some 20 years later - and based in Vancouver since 2001 - Ensemble Theatre Company is well-regarded for its choice of heady, intelligent and thoughtful productions, with accolades that included Jessie Award nominations and high praise from our audiences and local critics alike.
Ensemble operates as a non-profit organization relying on community support to produce our annual Summer Repertory Festival, our readings and other events each year. We draw a multi-generational audience of nearly 10,000 from the greater Vancouver area, but our impact reaches well beyond this region with several American and European patrons returning each summer.
